Wherever you look, water is an ever-present feature at Banyan Tree Bintan, treasured for its calming effects and beauty. A variety of exhilarating water sports can be tried out in our secluded bay. The picture-perfect setting with golden sand, coconut trees and striking boulders will make your heart beat faster.

During the monsoon season (from November to April), the sea may be too rough for some activities, but you can always jump into the fabulous waves or stroll along the beach into the sunset. If you don't like the taste of salt water on your lips, take an invigorating swim in our unique rock edge pool high above the coastline or in the beach pool, both stunningly integrated into their natural surroundings. The Marine Center is open daily from 9am to 5pm except during the monsoon season.

Children (3 to 10 years old) can visit the Kid's Club at Angsana Resort & Spa throughout the week (except Tuesdays) from 10.15am to 12.30pm or 13.45pm to 5pm. In-villa babysitting is available at US$6 net per hour per child, subject to a minimum duration of two hours. Please note that children below 16 years of age are not allowed to swim at the rock edge pool as this area is reserved for spa relaxation and guests seeking peace and quiet.

Saffron
Saffron is the signature restaurant of Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts, featuring Thai and Indonesian cuisine presented in a contemporary manner whilst maintaining the distinctive original flavours and ingredients of each. Saffron uses a wide variety of components from around these two regions, ensuring its reputation as a truly diverse Asian restaurant.

The Cove
Located just above the Beach Pool, this Mediterranean inspired restaurant affords a panoramic view of the South China Sea and offers a sophisticated selection of Italian, southern French and Spanish cuisine.

Tree Tops
Tree Tops offers an extensive array of international cuisine with mouth-watering Western, Japanese and Asian fusion favourites for lunch and dinner. In addition, the delightful and healthy ‘Tamarind Spa Cuisine’ is offered around the pool area to complete the culinary experience.

On Friday and Saturday evenings the connecting Cliff Bar is open from 5pm to 8pm, and is an inviting location for pre-dinner drinks or a relaxing glass of Champagne while watching the sunset.

Dinner on the Rocks
Follow the alluring scent of romance for a dinner adventure in the wild heart of nature. Ascend to the dramatic rocks beachside, where a personal chef and waiter orchestrate dinner amidst the hypnotic sounds of the sea. A symphony of waves surrounds you on all sides, affording complete privacy for the most intimate of tête-à-têtes.

Dinner on the Rocks is available daily from 6pm onwards, weather permitting. As a great deal of preparation is required, we ask that you make your reservation 24 hours prior to dinner. Beverages are not included and need to be pre-ordered at least four hours prior to dinner.

Dinner at 8
Plan an intricate dinner adventure like no other, with the raw majesty of the South China Sea in your sights. Travel down to the signature 8th hole of Laguna Bintan Golf Club in your buggy, where a personal waiter and chef prepare a gourmet medley under the stars. Lighted boats pass silently in the night, as you savor the romance of this incomparable experience.

Dinner of the Legend
Gastronomy and intriguing folklore conspire to hold you spellbound in this themed dinner extravaganza for two. Make your way to the softly silhouetted Marine Center, where a beach dinner of Indonesian Rijstafel awaits. Featuring a rice table of appetizer-styled dishes, the epicurean fest is accompanied by the reading of an Indonesian folk tale, the Legend of the Violet Rainbow Goddess. Anticipation whets the most exacting palates, as drama and romance play deep into the velvety night.

The Beach Pool
A free form swimming pool located adjacent to the beach. Relax under large umbrellas beside the pool bar, which serves an excellent variety of cocktails, light finger food and a selection of Indonesian and Thai dishes prepared by our culinary team at Saffron.

Reflection
Hosted on the calm surface of the Rock Edge Pool at Banyan Tree Bintan, The Reflection is designed to create an unforgettable dining experience for couples. As dusk sets, a private table for two is built over a floating platform on the pool, this where you and your loved one will dine amidst the reflections of majestic trees. Suffused by candlelight as the sun sets over the horizon, an Asian-accented five-course continental degustation awaits, with items such as steamed black cod with sabayon of Sumatran red curry. The highlight of the meal is the precious dessert of Coffee Luwak Mousse, prepared from the rare Central Javanese Highland Coffee Beans, the most expensive in the world.

The Reflection is also available as part of a wedding package for guests seeking a memorable union ceremony.
