The mountains of Jamaica are an unlikely location for one of the island's premier resort experiences, but this is exactly where you will find the Strawberry Hill resort and spa. Don't be fooled by the name, there are no strawberries to be had on the  acreage that the property sits on, nor is there a beach. Sand skipping and downing tall-glassed Daiquiris are not on the roster of activities at Strawberry Hill.

What the property does offer is a delectable, near private retreat in a destination that is one of the most popular in the world. Because of this the property hosts the most distinguished guests, guests that wish to escape the prying lenses of the paparazzi, while feeling free enough to take a botanical walk, rain forest bike ride or a cultural tour which affords them a true Jamaican experience.

That said, this resort is not for everyone. Some might think it insane to visit Jamaica and not be on the beach. Some may be uncomfortable flying into Kingston instead of the tourist-filled Montego Bay airport. Travelers might want their dinner menu fixed, instead of a rotation of culinary choices that incorporate much of the spices and produce grown locally. For the rest of us, Strawberry Hill is a much welcomed departure from the norm.

Cottages embody traditional 19th century Georgian architecture with interior details to create a romantic atmosphere: dark mahogany four poster beds draped with a delicate canopy of muslin netting; French doors; louvered windows; and spacious private verandas. Each cottage features hand-carved fretwork with different themes. Jamaican art and photographs decorate the walls. Bathrooms are simply furnished with terra cotta & hand glazed tiles, and deep bathtubs.

Room amenities include: Goose-down bedding with heated mattress pads, large writing desk with cordless telephones with answering machine, rooms feature king or queen-size bed, bathrobes and coffee maker, CD player with CD library and cable TV/VCR, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, and in-room safe.

STUDIO - 4 Studios with private balconies, suitable for dining. These rooms are Gong, Tree, Cedar, and 59 Steps. Every studio overlooks the sea and Kingston, providing an incredible view.

ONE BEDROOM - Timbuktu 1, 2, 3, and 4 boast stunning views of Kingston. All units features queen size beds except Timbuktu 4, which has two twin beds.

BIRDS HILL - Single story house with a Jacuzzi and private terrace. Bedroom features a centrally-placed four-poster bed, walk-in wardrobes, comfortably spacious bathroom. 1500 square feet.

TWO BEDROOM SUITE - Highgate and Mountainview 2 are spacious 3200 square feet 2 bedroom villas with wrap around balconies. Mountainview 2 has the privacy of a separated bedroom and the option of an additional deluxe bedroom Mountainview 1.
