September 7, 2005 – Wedding Bells are ringing across Jamaica as
Couples Resorts has tied the knot with Sans Souci Resort & Spa.
Carreras Jamaica announced today that Sans Souci Resort & Spa has
been sold to the Couples Resorts group. Couples will add the resort
to its already existing trio of Couples Swept Away, Couples Negril
and Couples Ocho Rios. Following in line with the tradition of
marriage, Sans Souci Resort & Spa will drop its maiden name and
reemerge as Couples Sans Souci.
The Bride… Nicknamed the “Jewel of Jamaica”, Sans Souci Resort & Spa
is located on the picturesque north coast of Jamaica, four miles
east of Ocho Rios. Originally opened in the early 1950s and then
re-built in the 1970s, Sans Souci, French for "without a care,” is a
AAA Four-Diamond resort with 148 ocean-facing luxury suites nestled
into a 35-acre hillside garden. Named among the “Caribbean’s Top

One Bedroom Verandah Suite - 8 Suites
These spacious master bedroom suites have large balconies
overlooking the tranquil Caribbean waters. They are furnished with
either a king-sized bed or two twin beds.
One Bedroom Oceanview Suite - 8 Suites
Decorated in soft hues of pink and green, these suites offer large
master bedrooms with either a king-sized bed or 2 twin beds and a
comfortable sitting area.
One Bedroom Oceanview Suite with Balcony - 27 suites
All of these Mediterranean-style rooms have large master bedrooms,
ample separate living rooms,
balconies, and
panoramic ocean views. Available with either a king-sized bed or 2
twin beds.
One Bedroom Oceanview Jacuzzi Suite - 23 suites
These drawing-room chic suites include a separate sitting area
detached from the master bedroom, with a Jacuzzi tub situated in the
bathroom. Balconies extend from some of these elegant rooms, while
all have gorgeous views of the blue Caribbean. Available with either
a king-sized bed or 2 twin beds.
One Bedroom Beachfront Jacuzzi Suite - 72 suites
These favorite rooms feature our trademark Tropical décor in hues of
pink and green. All have intimate sitting areas separate from the
master bedroom. From either a balcony or patio, all have heavenly
ocean front views, Jacuzzi, and stand-up shower. Most of these
suites feature king-sized beds, while a few have twin beds available
by request.
Penthouse Suite - 8 suites
Laid before the sparkling blue ocean, these suites live up to their
reputations -- posh living rooms, elegant bedrooms, and large
balconies with majestic views. Each of these suites is uniquely
decorated in Sans Souci's refined Mediterranean style. Bedrooms in
these suites are available with either king-sized beds or twin beds.

There is a 24 hour turn-around on laundry, and 48 hours on dry

Live Nightly Entertainment
Nightly entertainment includes Sans Souci Resort & Spa's resident
band, strolling musicians (saxophonist, guitarist and flutist), and
the Balloon Bar, the Resort's piano lounge. In addition, the resort
schedules weekly themed parties.
Water sports
Our two intimate coves offer beaches with warm sparkling clear water
perfect for sunbathing, swimming and water sports including
snorkeling, sailing, windsurfing, hydra-bikes, kayaking, water
skiing and scuba diving. Several pools and outdoor Jacuzzis are
spread throughout the property and the more private beach is
clothing optional.
Dining & Cuisine
Sans Souci has earned highest marks for its magnificent cuisine
prepared by award winning chefs and is always served with gracious
hospitality and a smile. Dining is an indulgence at Sans Souci from
gourmet dishes in the white-glove Casanova Restaurant to delicious
fresh-made pastas at Ristorante Pallazina, to jerk chicken at our
beachside Bella Vista. Not to be left out, the breakfast and
luncheon buffets are sumptuous. The only thing that will never vary
is the quality. It is always excellent. The Weekly Jamaican Beach

Championship Tennis Courts
Two championship tennis courts (lit for night play) are available
for individuals or mini-tournaments. We provide both racquets and

HOW TO GET THERE:
The resort is located
approximately 95 miles from the Montego Bay Airport. Ground
transportation to and from the Montego Bay airport are included in
the rates. At an additional cost, air transportation can be arranged
for flights to the Boscobel Airport, just 20 minutes away.
