DESCRIPTION:

At the World Travel Awards it was named ‘The World’s Leading Private Island’. Caribbean Travel & Life ranks it amongst the Caribbean’s ‘most romantic resorts’. Travel & Leisure says it is ‘one of the best places to stay in the world’. Palm Island is a very special place.

It lies on its own 135-acre island in The Grenadines, that chain of exclusive little islands that runs between St. Vincent in the north and Grenada in the south. It is reached via a 45-minute flight from Barbados to neighboring Union Island, followed by an 8-minute ride by private launch.

Great care has been taken to ensure the resort blends in with these untouched natural surroundings. The five white sand beaches are complemented by just 37 guest rooms that are dwarfed by the coconut palms and charmingly styled with their island-setting in mind. Activities are low-key and generally focused upon the sand and the sea, while dining is always a breeze-cooled beachfront affair, the delicious Euro-Caribbean cuisine taking full advantage of freshly-caught seafood and locally-grown vegetables.

Yet Palm Island is not just a resort. It’s a place where guests slow down, recharge their batteries and gradually rediscover the wonders of nature. Panoramic walking trails show off indigenous iguanas and interesting birdlife. Visiting yachts and traditional beach homes contribute a sense of authentic island life. And boat trips to the world-famous Tobago Cays ensure visitors leave with a great ‘sense of place’.

ROOM CATEGORIES:
The resort offers 40 expertly designed and authentically decorated guestrooms each of which embodies the true spirit of the Grenadines. All guest rooms and lofts feature a/c, ceiling fans, louvered-windows, custom-designed rattan and bamboo furniture, luxurious cotton bed linens, richly colored fabrics, spectacular balconies or patios and original artwork created by a Palm Island resident artist.

In-room amenities include: complimentary bath products, in-room safe, bathrobes, mini-fridge, turndown service, room service for continental breakfast and afternoon tea.

No televisions or telephone in guestrooms. TV viewing is available in a designated public area only. World-wide telephone and telefax facilities are available.

PALM VIEW (approximately 450 square feet) - Housed in two separate buildings set slightly back in the gardens. They all feature sitting areas and private furnished terraces overlooking either the pool or the sands. Features include a king-size bed, a deep soaking tub and a separate shower. Rollaway available for third person.

BEACHFRONT (approximately 320 square feet) - These 20 cottages are housed in ten separate buildings on the beach, all with furnished private terraces and direct ocean views. Features include king-size beds and bathrooms with shower only.

PLANTATION HOUSE (approximately 560 square feet) - These four rooms are housed in a two-story building set slightly back in the gardens. Features include two queen-size sleigh beds, a small sitting area, a double shower and a covered furnished terrace or balcony.

ISLAND LOFT (approximately 514 square feet) -  Three of the stilted island lofts are individual wooden cottages with two queen-size beds, private terraces and ocean views. Two are housed in a shared wooden building on the beach and feature king-size beds, deep-soaking tubs and separate showers. No televisions or telephone in guestrooms.

SOUTHERN CROSS (approximately 4,000 square feet) -  A luxurious new villa with a panoramic ocean view and sequested setting.  Perched on a panoramic bluff on the eastern tip of the island. Includes no less than three timbers decks, a tiled dinning
